When you purchased your new Gateway computer, Gateway provided you with an option that can be used if you need to recover the genuine Microsoft operating system, which was preinstalled on your computer.

All the recovery solutions address the extremely rare instances of failure due to operating system file corruption, modification, or hardware failure. In no way do these options limit your ability to add or remove new hardware and software to your computer or limit your ability to make a backup copy of the operating system.

The recovery media option that Gateway provides for our variety of products is through the Operating System disc. The disc is a CD clearly marked with the Gateway name and cow-spotted logo that can only be used on the computer you purchased. The Operating System disc is included with the materials you received at the time of purchase and contains all files necessary to restore the operating system on your computer.
